  Personal Background

Most people lost their family members in a savage regime of Pol Pot. It was a brutal and dictatoral regime for the human history which killed 1.7 millions Cambodians between 1975 - 1979. We lost our father when I was 5 months old in the same regime in a small village about 32km, north of Siem Reap, known as Sophy. Our lives was very tough though the country was liberated by the Vietnamese invation. Before the arrival of UN troops to Cambodia, our members of the family had seperated upart due to life supports. Thanks for the present of the UN troops in Cambodia in 1991 that tried to stable the situation of the country and it inspired my Cambodian children to stay foreign language. I started to practise my bumpy English with them when I feed my cattles around their camp. We decided to move our accommodation to Siem Reap town in 1993 which could bring our lives better even it was quite difficult for us because the cost of livings. It was much more expensive than in the country.
Fortunately, I found a job in a small western restaurant in 1995, known as Green House Restaurant and after 3 months of working in the restaurant, I had improved a lot of my English speaking skills, andI found a sponsor for my education for 5 years. He is currently a teacher in Brooklyn, called Michael Pearlman. I had successfully graduated from IT (computer science & engineering) bachelor degree in 2001. At the same time of my graduation, I started to work as a licensed and certificated tour guide in Angkor region until today.
Angkor Explorer website is a self-designed and maintained to seek for the low budget travelers to Cambodia. It is not a company but it is working as perfect as a company.
